Coventry Wedding Photographer
I had the pleasure of being Carrie & Tony’s wedding photographer for their April wedding. I met the bride and Groom at Cheylesmore Manor House for the wedding ceremony, in the Queen Isabella Room, then everyone headed to the the couples farm home 20 mins away.
Bridal Preparations
Carrie spent the morning getting ready with her friends and family at home, I met the couple at the registry office, I know Carrie was not happy about having photos but really wanted to the have the memories, but she did book last minuet, as a week day wedding I can sometimes fit in a last minuet wedding photography shoot, and this day was also my birthday so lots of celebrating!
The Ceremony in the Queen Isabella Room
The ceremony took place in one of Cheylesmore Manor House ceremony rooms the biggest of the ceremony rooms the Queen Isabella Room.
Tony was all ready to go when I arrived, he was excited and looked amazing in his suit. I knew that using the soft flash would not be a great option for some dynamic lighting. It was a bright day so the room did have light coming through, as it can be quite a dark room to capture your wedding photos.
Carrie walked down the aisle with her very proud father. I captured all of the small smiles and looks from everyone.
As the registrars conducted the ceremony I photographed the emotions on their faces and the family and friends watching. Making sure I capture the really important elements of the ceremony too, this is also when the registrar just carefully steps aside to let me know I can move into a central position. This is when the bride walks down the aisle, vowels being exchanged, ring exchange and the very important first kiss. These are the key elements as a wedding photographer I need to capture, it’s great that the team at Coventry Registry office are so accommodating. And the signing of the register this is always a mock up as you are not allowed to photograph the legal document.
Once the ceremony had concluded all of the guests headed downstairs to get ready for the confetti shot, I kept the bride and groom behind to capture some shots of the 2 of them in the ceremony room by the gorgeous stone fire place, the room has very recently been renovated.
Couple Portraits & Groups
After the ceremony, we took advantage of the dry sky and spring sunshine for the couples portraits. The warmth and beaming sun gave us an unusual April afternoon, I had a short list of group photos to get through so everyone was ready to get them done in a really great order and speedy as they all wanted to get back for a beer!
As the couple walked out of the wooden door everyone had confetti ready to do the confetti shots, one of my favorite photos to capture on any wedding day. I always get told how boring I am when I tell everyone to throw the confetti up in the air and not directly into their faces!
After capturing all of the group shots of family and friends, We spent 15 mins in the back area of the registry office with Carrie and Tony, having photos around the stunning wooden door way, under the arch with the wooden beams and on the mini bridge capturing a small amount of photos of the new Mr & Mrs as they had asked me not to do overly posed photos or too romantic!
The Reception
I arrived at the couples farm home, awaiting on the wedding car, I captured photos of the car and the couple with the car, it was a little more difficult as the sun was beaming down on us and absolutely no shade at all!
Carrie had asked to capture some shots of the guests just un posed completely candid styling. Carrie and Tony had some photos around the garden that they had decorated for the wedding, I used the pond as a nice setting and on the lawn trying to use the shaded area!
The couple had asked for more group photos with friends and family, it was lovely getting the groups together and organising the group wedding photos.
We had some big wedding confetti cannons that the couple had asked me to create a photo with, I organised all of the guests to come around together and placed the bride and groom in the middle, on the count of the 3 off the cannons went for some fun wedding photos.
Thank you so much for letting me capture your wedding day photos, it is always a pleasure to be a part of any wedding day, but this was a small intimate wedding with such lovely warm people.
