Weddings at Bourton Hall
Bourton Hall in November held a special magic for Sophie and Jonny’s beautiful wedding day. Though the air was crisp, the atmosphere was anything but cool! The morning began upstairs in the breathtaking Lady Bourton Room, a space perfectly suited for a radiant bride. Sophie was positively glowing, filled with an electric excitement to finally marry her Jonny. I captured those authentic, candid moments she had dreamed of with her sisters and best friend, wonderful cheerleaders, helping keep the excitement (and the dresses!) perfectly in check. This day was a heartfelt celebration, a second, joyous chapter following their vows in India, and it was such an honour to be the one to capture every precious memory she wanted to hold onto, surrounded by all their loved ones.
The Ceremony in the Chapel
From the moment I stepped into Bourton Hall’s chapel, I knew this day was going to be magic. Surrounded by those classic wooden panels, and with that stunning wall of mirrors reflecting the light, the setting was perfect for the timeless elegance Sophie and Jonny had created. Their choice of creams and greens and light blues for the florals brought such a clean, classic feel to the entire day, from the aisle to the wedding breakfast. Dee from Rugby Registry Office conducted a beautiful ceremony, but it was when Sophie and Jonny read their own vows that the room truly filled with emotion. It was incredible and frankly, adorable that they both pulled out the exact same cherished memories they shared. Hearing their identical stories of fond love and laughter was genuinely heartwarming and a moment I won’t soon forget, both as a person and as their photographer. They also had 2 beautiful readings from 2 guests, and a stunning pianist playing Sophie down the aisle and when they were signing the marriage certificate.
Group & Couple Photos
As soon as the ceremony had finished the couple headed into the main hall at the venue to greet each guest and have welcome drinks. Because of the time of year and one of the best days of the week with having the blessing of sunshine Sophie & Jonny wanted to head out into the gardens to capture the photos of the 2 of them, as they hadn’t had any photos of just the 2 of them at their wedding in India, soo it was very important to capture as many as we could!
With the reds,, yellows and oranges from the trees in the background with the beautiful low winter sun shining through we captured lots of in the moment shots and slightly posed ones too.
We then headed to the main back lawn to get all of the group photos done before we lost the daylight. With the help of all of the grooms men and bridal party they quickly got each group rounded up and ready. It always makes the group shots go so much faster.
The Wedding Breakfast
With each wedding I always capture the dressed room before any guests are inside, photographing all of the smaller details that you might forget in the future.
The speeches commenced with lots of laughs and stories told with 5 speeches from family and friends.
I captured lots of beaming happy smiles of the guests and couple.
The Wedding Day
I had a lovely day watching this couple get married, you could see the love they had for each other. It really did show all day!
As ever the Bourton Hall team were a well oiled machine and looked after the day perfectly.
I really wish this couple all of the best for the future.
And hopefully capture a newborn shoot or two in the future!
