For me, wedding photography does not end when I leave the venue at the end of the day.
The pre-wedding conversations, the planning, the relationship we build and the wedding day itself are all important, but there is still a lot that happens after the final photograph has been taken.
Once your wedding day is over and you’re beginning to relax, celebrate or recover from the excitement, I am already working behind the scenes to protect, prepare and edit your photographs.
Securing Your Wedding Photographs
The first thing I do after a wedding is secure your images.
Your wedding photographs are incredibly important, so making sure they are safely backed up is always my first priority.
As soon as I am able to, I transfer and secure the images so they are protected before the editing process begins.
Sneak Peek Photographs
Depending on what time I get home from your wedding, I always try to send across a small selection of sneak peek photographs as soon as possible.
I know how exciting it is to see those first images, especially when the day has been such a blur of emotion, nerves, laughter and celebration.
These first photographs give you something to enjoy, share and relive while the full gallery is being carefully prepared.
Choosing And Editing Your Final Images
After the wedding, I go through your photographs carefully, removing duplicates, near-identical images and anything that does not add to the final story of your day.
I then edit your selected photographs in my natural, elegant and timeless style.
For me, editing is not about changing the day or making the photographs look artificial. It is about enhancing the images carefully so they feel polished, consistent and true to the atmosphere of your wedding.
Your Private Online Gallery
Once your wedding photographs have been edited, I upload them to a secure online gallery for you to view.
This gives you time to enjoy the full story of your day privately and at your own pace.
From there, we can discuss any questions, small adjustments, colour preferences, prints, albums or anything else you may wish to consider.
Albums, Prints And Finishing Touches
Some couples are happy simply receiving their full gallery, while others love creating albums and printed memories from their wedding photographs.
After the editing process, I am always happy to discuss albums, prints and ways to preserve your favourite images properly.
Some couples even come back for a one-to-one session to go through their photographs with me, discuss album choices and look at how best to display their memories.
The Story Continues After The Wedding
Your wedding day may only last for one day, but your photographs are what allow you to return to it for years to come.
That is why the process after the wedding matters so much.
From securing the files and creating sneak peeks to editing, gallery delivery and albums, every stage is part of making sure your wedding photographs are looked after properly.
Because wedding photography is not just about taking photographs on the day.
It is about creating something lasting from one of the most important days of your life.
