My passion is delivering wedding photography across the Midlands that feel authentic and elegant, capturing images that genuinely mirror your real memories as if time truly stood still. My core style philosophy is that no single label (candid, documentary, traditional, reportage) can define me as a successful wedding photographer. Instead, I define myself as dynamic and adaptable, seamlessly blending the best of every wedding photography style to meet your unique needs and the flow of the day.
The only wedding photography style I do not offer is “contemporary art,” as it is overly time-consuming for couples (often requiring full lighting rigs) and runs counter to my goal of a relaxed, non-disruptive celebration.
At the heart of my approach is storytelling. I discreetly work in stealth mode to capture candid, authentic imagery, the unexpected laughter, the quiet glance, the spontaneous hug, all with real emotion and zero disruption. This requires quietly blending in amongst your guests, family, and friends, often working closely with venue staff to remain unnoticed and stay ahead, ensuring the day unfolds naturally. Don’t be surprised, however, that I might suddenly burst out from the shadows mid-action (like on the dance floor) for a split-second shot, then vanish again!
Equally, I am a strong believer in the timeless necessity of traditional wedding photography. Those classic, posed couple and family/group photographs are moments that deserve to take pride of place in your album or be framed on the wall. I specialise in making these moments feel anything but rigid or awkward. Whether it’s just my couples, or a small group of 3–5, or a full 200-person shot, my approach is to take charge with a good sense of humour and clear direction, making the process really good fun and relaxing for everyone, even the most camera-shy or anxious guests.
My style utilises this hybrid approach, knowing exactly how long to spend orchestrating a scene to get that magical image without detracting from the day itself. When asked what style of photographer I am, the answer is: I am all of the above, and more.
My imagery is considered to be natural, elegant, and timeless. I achieve this by avoiding fad filters and over-editing entirely. You won’t find emulation or vintage effects, nor will I artificially over-intensify colours. Keeping images true-to-life and natural is the key to creating moments that look just as beautiful decades from now as they do today.

The planning phase of your wedding should be full of excitement and romance, not stress. That’s why my approach starts with a friendly, relaxed consultation, available either before or after you decide to book me. About half of my couples book first, securing their date with defined budgets, while the other half preferring to meet, chat, and learn about me first, using my experience to help shape their, budget, photography package and timelines.
We can meet 1-on-1, or connect virtually over the phone or video link whatever you prefer, and my goal is simple: to leave you feeling warm, confident, and relaxed about the entire process. I pride myself on being approachable and flexible; there are no silly questions, only wonderful details to cover.
During this consultation, we delve into the details that truly make your wedding yours. We’ll discuss:
This collaborative, enjoyable planning ensures that when your big day arrives, the photography is seamlessly integrated into the beautiful story you’ve created, and you know you have a super nice, experienced person by your side, ready to help.
My management style on your wedding day is built on ‘necessity presence’ with ‘minimum disruption’. It starts with arriving early to liaise with the venue staff, registrars, and other officials, ensuring everyone is on the same page and fully aware of the photography needs for the day. My aim is to become part of the efficient, calm background team.
For couples opting for full-day coverage, the “getting ready” photographs are part of the fun and giggles! I am fully adept at jumping discreetly between separate rooms at the same venue, capturing the excitement of the happy couple, the wedding party, close family, and friends. My adaptability also means I’ve unexpectedly become highly skilled in wedding day mishap aversion, from emergency sewing to quick problem-solving, I’m prepared for anything the day throws at us.
When the time comes for the formal portraits, my unique ability to transition from being unseen to taking command comes into play. I guide and organise groups, moving excitable crowds to the perfect location quickly and efficiently. The process should feel like a fun, high-energy memory itself, full of romance, stories, and genuine laughter. My priority is ensuring everyone, from parents to children, and especially those who may be autistic or extremely nervous/anxious feels totally at ease, resulting in authentic, relaxed expressions rather than awkward facial smiles.
Also I’m not a clock-watcher. Weddings do not always follow the plan precisely, and that is completely fine. My extensive experience, combined with the professionalism of the venue team, allows us to adapt in a stress-free and relaxed manner, making photography a joyful part of your memories, not a source of worry.
The end of the wedding day is just the beginning of the photo journey, and I ensure the excitement continues, starting with a sneak peak.
Sneak Preview (Within 48 Hours)
I understand the immediate desire to share your joy, so typically within 48 hours of your wedding day, I provide a beautiful sneak preview of images. This is perfect for posting to social media and sharing the first look at your incredible day with family and friends while the glow is still fresh. Please talk with me for time sensitive thank you card imagery.
The Full Story (Digital Delivery)
You will receive all your gorgeous digital images to keep, share, and enjoy forever. I have no set maximum amount; I continue to capture and create throughout the entire day, and every image is edited to my high, natural and elegant standards, ensuring your collection remains timeless.
Post-Wedding Consult
After you have reviewed your online image gallery and have had a chance to breathe and settle into married life, we can schedule a relaxed, post-wedding consult. This is our time to discuss any albums, prints, or bespoke wall art you’d like to order, turning those digital memories into tangible keepsakes.
Ultimately, my aim is to deliver a service where you look back and say: “Emma became part of our story.” You’ll love not just the stunning, comprehensive photography, but also the confidence, warmth, and fun I brought to every stage of your wedding journey.
You may have come across lots of different photography styles while planning your wedding. It can be confusing. In reality, most couples want a natural mixture, not a rigid approach.
Documentary wedding photography focuses on real moments as they happen, without interruption. It’s about capturing emotion, atmosphere and storytelling naturally, allowing your day to unfold without feeling staged.
Reportage is very similar to documentary photography, often used to describe coverage that quietly follows the flow of the day from start to finish. It’s especially suited to couples who value genuine moments over posed images.
Natural wedding photography blends candid moments with light guidance when needed. This approach keeps portraits relaxed and flattering, without awkward posing or forced expressions.
Traditional wedding photography focuses more on structured group photographs and classic portraits. This style is often important for family images and formal moments, and can be included without taking over your day.
Contemporary photography is a modern take on wedding imagery, often influenced by editorial style, creative composition and current trends. It works well alongside natural and documentary coverage.
Most couples don’t fit neatly into one photography style — and that’s completely normal.
My approach is hybrid wedding photography, meaning I adapt throughout the day based on what matters most to you. I’ll move naturally and unobtrusively to capture real moments, while also offering calm direction when it’s helpful for couple portraits, family photographs or group shots.
Some couples prefer very little formality. Others want a few classic images, or even a carefully planned list of family and friends photographs. I’m happy to work with detailed shot lists where needed, scheduling these smoothly into the day so everything runs calmly and efficiently.
Most couples want a mixture — and I’m comfortable adjusting in real time to suit your priorities, your timeline and your personalities. Rather than asking you to choose a strict photography style, I shape my approach around your wedding day — so everything feels natural, relaxed and true to you.
My wedding photography style comes straight from my personality and creativity. I’d describe myself as friendly, bubbly, and light-hearted, but also inherently calm and reassuring.
This quiet confidence and friendly attitude is often what my couples comment on first; they tell me it instantly puts them at ease and helps them genuinely relax in front of the camera. That relaxed approach is the foundation of my work. We’ll share plenty of laughs while I capture those unforgettable photographs, because your wedding day should feel fun and romantic above all else.
This personal approach to adaptability means I’m ready to wear any of three vital hats for you:
I’m extremely comfortable wear any of these three vital hats, taking instruction or taking charge, or somewhere inbetween.
This personal touch allows me to adapt quickly and stress-free to whatever the day brings, ensuring that when plans change, your moments still unfold beautifully.
I can be photographing between 3 and 10 weddings per month depending on the season, across the region, which means I have truly seen it all.
From schedules that go astray to surprise downpours, from power cuts to cake-toppling moments, I take every unexpected event in my stride with a smile and a solution. Over the years, I’ve photographed sun-drenched outdoor ceremonies, elegantly lit indoor venues, shy couples, lively dance floors, and everything in between. This depth of experience allows me to blend in seamlessly, adapting my technical skills and positioning to any situation while still consistently creating timeless, natural, and elegant images, regardless of the challenge. This professional preparedness means you can relax knowing your photography is in the hands of someone who’s ready for anything.
With me, you will receive the combination of photography you want: the perfect mix of authentic storytelling and beautifully composed portraits and group shots, in my natural, elegant and timeless style.
Crucially, my work is built to last. I do not believe in over-editing or using fad filters that will look dated within a few years. Instead, I create photographs that feel real, romantic, and authentically vibrant. These are images that will genuinely stand the test of time and always deserve a place on your wall or mantelpiece. You get dynamic, adaptable, and comprehensive coverage, focused solely on capturing your day in the most elegant and enduring way possible.
