To ensure your big day goes ahead without a hitch, read on to discover the top ten things that need to be considered.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]

      1. Set a budget – There is only one place to begin, and this is with setting a budget. The average cost of a wedding in the UK is £29,780, according to NimbleFins. However, you can plan a wedding for as little as £6,275 or as much as £67,600, so you need to establish a budget that works for you, and stick with it!

      2. Choose a theme – This is one of the fun parts! You can spend some time browsing the likes of Pinterest and Instagram, getting inspiration, and putting mood boards together. This will enable you to select a wedding theme. This could either be a colour palette or you may decide on an actual theme, for example, a vintage wedding or a festival theme. Once you have done this, it is going to be a lot easier for you to make supplier decisions.

      3. Put together your guestlist – Putting together your guest list will depend on a few things. The first is who you want to be at your wedding. The second is your budget. You may want to have an extravagant wedding, but if you have a limited budget, you may need to think about having a small number of people to the day ceremony and then a large number of people in the evening instead.

      4. Decide on your venue – Once you have established a budget and you have a rough idea regarding the guestlist for your wedding, you will be able to choose a wedding venue. There are so many different wedding venues to choose from, including rustic barns, castles, outdoor marquees, hotels, and more. You can even get married at a theme park or racecourse!

      5. Buy wedding insurance – This is a step that a lot of couples overlook, but it is imperative. Let’s say that you needed to cancel your wedding because you fell seriously ill or the venue went bankrupt, wedding insurance will ensure that you get your money back. This can give you both huge peace of mind when planning your big day.

      6. Choose a wedding photographer – Your wedding photographer is responsible for eternalising your special day. The last thing you want is to receive your wedding photographs and realise that people’s heads have been cut off or that the images are out of focus. This is why it is imperative to spend some time looking at different wedding photographers, reading reviews that have been left by others, and checking out their portfolio of work to get an understanding of their style.

      7. Pick a florist – You also need to look into what flowers you are going to have. You can opt to use the services of a florist or you could go down the DIY route. Again, this all depends on your budget and how much involvement you want to have with the decor.

      8. Think about what other suppliers you are going to need – Aside from a photographer and a florist, there are a number of other suppliers you are going to require for your big day. Is catering included as part of your package with the venue? What sort of entertainment are you going to have? Will you hire a DJ or do you want a live band? Perhaps you want something a bit different, such as a magician? The options are endless. You also have the likes of photo booths, Prosecco vans, and food trucks. There are many different ways you can make your special day unique, so spend some time looking around and assessing your options.

      9. Buy your wedding dress –
You do not have much time to waste when it comes to wedding dress shopping. It can often tax six months for dresses to be made, so you need to give yourself plenty of time to find your dream dress.

      10. Think about your seating plan – Seating plans can be difficult, especially if you have disputes amongst family members. You will need to give yourself a bit of time to sort your seating plan. You want everyone to have a great day and to minimise stress, so consider who is going to sit next to who carefully.

So there you have it: the ten things you need to consider ahead of your wedding day. You can use this as a checklist to ensure that your special day is one to remember for all of the right reasons.
