ABOUT YOUR NEWBORN PhotoShoot
RElax WITH THE PROFESSIONAL ....
The first few weeks of our baby’s lives are a beautiful time to be celebrated and enjoyed. A Newborn photoshoot with me is a fun, relaxed experience that will produce beautiful photos for you and your family to enjoy.
My home studio is often described by parents as a safe haven, a warm, comfortable space equipped with the highest quality equipment and lighting. Upon arrival, enjoy a refreshment on the sofa with me whilst we discuss your visions and relax to the gentle background music. I have designed my home studio meticulously to be the perfect environment for you and your baby to be relaxed and enjoy your photoshoot experience.
I draw experience from both my professional and personal life as an ex nursery nurse and mother of three and completely understand that baby’s needs can never be put on hold! During our shoot together, there will be plenty of time for nappy changes, feeds and snuggle time to ensure everyone involved is as happy as can be.
You may have seen examples on my site of newborns snuggled into furs, baskets or boxes all curled up cosy and warm. For these particular photos, you should aim to book your photoshoot within baby’s first 21 days.
What to Bring To the Shoot?
ESSENTIALS & FAVOURITE PROPS
My first recommendation of what to bring with you to a photoshoot is always plenty of milk and plenty of nappies! If your baby does choose not to snooze through the whole photoshoot (which plenty do!), you’d be surprised how many nappies they can get through whilst being posed, held and changed.
Some families like to bring toys or items from home that have a special meaning. We can incorporate these into your photos to add that personal touch. You’ll also be free to choose from any of the props, wraps or throws that I have here in the studio. Regularly cleaned between every shoot for hygiene, my range of extras suit lots of colour themes or styles to suit you.
HOW LONG DO THE Newborn PHOTOSHOOTS LAST?
2-4 HOurs - (AverAGE 3HRS)
I am very lucky to have my own, home studio within which to work. All of my newborn photoshoots are planned to be relaxed, fun and patient. We will have plenty of time together to chat, relax and take photos. We will have plenty of breaks to allow baby to be changed, feed and get some extra cuddles!
It may seem a little daunting to spend 4 hours in a photoshoot, but there’s no need to worry. I am very relaxed and have refreshments available so that nothing is rushed and you can relax into the experience. No need to fear awkward silences either, as I always play gentle instrumental music to help soothe baby (and you!).
Colours & Props
BRING THE RAINBOW .....
Included in your photoshoot is use of my range of props, throws and blankets. I have a big variety to choose from to suit a range of themes, styles and colour palettes. Everything you’ll have access to is washed after every shoot so you can be certain your baby is safe and clean.
Please feel free to bring along your own outfits, toys, special items or anything else you’d like to use in your photos to add that personal touch.
If you plan on hanging or displaying your photographs around your home, you may wish to think about your decor and style and what colours would look best there too.
COSTS & IMAGE PACKAGES
AFFORDABLE & FLEXIBLE .....
My affordable photography package options are available with payment plans so you can pay monthly if that better suits your budget. All photoshoot payments are split into two separate instalments.
Step 1: Book and pay for your photoshoot. This instalment will pay for the photoshoot itself and will be payable before the day.
Step 2: Choose your image package. Once you’ve chosen the images you would like me to finalise for you and the level of editing that is required, you can then pay for these. Prices begin at £100 per package.
I arrange my payments in this way so that you are only ever paying for what you want and can guarantee photographs of the highest quality. You’ll be able to browse through printed versions of some example work whilst you’re at the studio to gather ideas and also confirm the quality of my work.
EDITING TIME & EDITING INCLUDED
ThE MAgic Software ....
Once we’ve got all of the photographs from the day, I will go through them and present them to you on a secure online gallery. These images will be raw (unedited) and watermarked, as in industry standard. You will then be free to browse through all of these photos at your leisure and choose which you’d like me to edit and finalise for you.
Most common edits including; lighting adjustments, cropping, colour changes, skin and hair adjustments and small removals are all included in the price of your final photos. More complex editing such as blending images together or significant changes to an image, I am happy to provide this service for an additional £75/hour.
The editing and finalising process usually takes between 4-8 weeks. If you require your photos sooner, we can discuss this and will require you to choose your images quickly from the initial online gallery.
I can also provide quotes for physical prints or albums of your newborn photoshoot, just ask!

Equipped with the highest quality equipment and lighting, a soft sofa for family and friends to relax on and additional heating to keep your little one warm during their time with me – you can be rest assured that you’ll be comfortable and safe throughout.
Based in Cawston in Rugby, I love welcoming families into my studio and am happy to be chatty throughout or to quietly get on depending on your preference. You’ll be welcome to my range of refreshments and I only ask that you do not take photos or videos during our session.

Enjoy My Gallery
The best place to start is to look through some of my images on the website. Naturally, the images on the site are never as sharp as the images you’d receive as they’d take ages to load up on the website. However, this will give you some ideas on styles or set-ups and shows the calibre of my Newborn Photography.

Let’s Chat
I love to have a chat and learn exactly what my clients really want, and also offer some of my own ideas. We can chat about everything from your due dates, to sessions dates, to costs, to payment plans, to styles, or just about anything else. These chats are very relaxed and give us a chance to get to know each other as well as plan your perfect shoot.

Book In Your Session
My photography slots are in high demand and do get booked up quickly, but I’ll always do my utmost to get you a booking. The quicker we book in the better. Normally, we’ll chat about your due date and pick a date after. This tends to works out just fine, sometimes if births are early or late, we can easily adapt to this.

Enjoy The Shoot
My clients all agree that my home studio is so relaxed and warm, so my parents can all quickly enjoy the shoot. Shoots aren’t rushed and are a space to find those perfect snaps. And that’s the key, we have some fun, try different ideas and if you need to stop for feeding etc, we just stop and chat, until we are ready to try again.

Preview Your Images
After the Newborn Photoshoot, I’ll begin to get the watermarked images into a preview state for you to review on a shared digital portal. This allows you to consider which Image Bundle you wish to purchase, having seen the images and decided on your favourites. If you have any specific editing ideas, this is the perfect time to suggest them too!

Select Image Package
On the day, I will be taking plenty of photos to choose from. Luckily, all the preview images have unique numbers which you can provide, along with your chosen Image Bundle (Image Bundles are sets of images for a fixed price). Then I can start the Finalisation and Editing process.

Finalisation & Touching
Due to my extensive photography experience & set up, images don’t often need any heavy edited. Some light edits are to be expected consisting of light finalisation i.e. cropping, light adjustments and sometimes touching such as blemish, skin and hair adjustments. Complex editing such as splicing (swapping parts of images), is rare and only on specific request, but is available and chargeable at a separate rate. Please allow 2-8 weeks depending on workload and holidays.

Review & Sign Off
Once I have finished editing your images to match the style you chose for your photos, I’ll provide them via the digital preview portal for you to review and sign off. Any, additional, minor edits can be completed quickly at this stage. Once you are happy and have signed off, we can prepare for release of your images. Once full payment is received, my watermark will be removed from your images and are fully license for your personal use.
