Getting Ready Time!
It was a lovely warm and sunny day in September for the wedding of Alison & Joe’s lovely wedding at Skylark Country Venue Hotel.
The day started with me meeting Alison in the morning at Staverton Park Hotel & Golf Club. Alison and her bridal party were beaming smiles when I arrived and sipping prosecco.
Everyone was really relaxed and excited about the day ahead! Alisons mum decided on a small amount of make up Alison and her daughter applied it with lots of giggles.
Dresses on and we captured some shots of Alison with her 2 bridesmaids, both having simple green dresses on.
Alison and Joe had decided they wanted a really small amount of time on the getting ready photography and opted to use the extra time for guest photos later in the day at Skylark.
The Ceremony
When I arrived at Skylark Joe and his best man Flash were in great spirits. Greeting the guests and talking to each other, I think Flash did a great job at trying to calm Joe’s pre ceremony nerves. With all of the guests in the ceremony room and the arrival of Alison and the bridal party the excitement really did build so much one of the glass vases suddenly shattered, thankfully the Skylark team quickly cleared up the water and glass and slippery floor sorted!
Alison arrived and I was really excited to meet the star guest ring bearer, the couples dog!!!
After Alison had completed her final interview with the wonderful registrars, she asked her mum if she would walk her down the aisle, she was utterly lost for words!
Alison and her bridal party walked down the aisle to the sound of the harpist at the end of the room.
They opted for a short ceremony with a reading from a guest and the first kiss happened! Congratulations

Photo Time
We set off straight away to capture the confetti shot with all of the guests on the grassed area, I know everyone really wanted to get a beer or wine but with the words from Alison “its not optional” everyone came along to join in the fun!
As soon as the confetti shot was complete, we set up the group photos, trying to avoid the harsh sunlight that was beaming down on us. we had so much fun, the bridal party and grooms men had even more fun, keeping everyone laughing means its more relaxing and less frustrating for everyone, especially in the sunshine.
We did some beautiful romantic and fun style photos with Joe and Alison around the field and under the lovely wooden structures, and we ventured down between the trees to get away from the group so the couple could have 5 mins of quiet and capture some stunning low sun photos between the trees.
We decided to do more photos in the amazing golden hour later in the day. This didn’t disappoint!
The wedding breakfast flowed with lots of drinks and laughs, and some hilarious speeches from the fire fighters!
The cake was cut and the 1st dance was to Bruno Mars and lady Gaga bruno mars and Lady Gaga – Die with a smile, one of my favorites!
Then sparklers… many many sparklers! Good job we had Joe and his fire fighter co workers there to give the safety brief!
The day
The day was an absolute pleasure to capture, with so much fun.
Skylark was a stunning backdrop on a sunny day. I was so happy that the bride and groom were so much fun, so relaxed and just beautiful inside and out.
The team at Skylark were wonderful, Thank you for looking after me and all of the wedding party so well!
