Weddings at The Saxon Mill Warwickshire

It was a slightly cooler day in October for the wedding of the beautiful couple  Steve & Laura’s lovely wedding at The Saxon Mill.

The days photos started with meeting with Steve at the venue capturing all of the wedding guests arriving and catching up in the ceremony room. Laura and Steve had created a frame for their guests to create themselves out of lego and place on the board under their name, I was secretly so excited when Steve told me I had my own to do on the board and a little lego camera was there for me to!

Awaiting Laura’s arrival with her bridal party was exciting I know they were arriving in a VW camper from The Old Camper Company. I have worked with this wonderful supplier on other wedding shoots around Warwickshire and Northamptonshire, highly recommended for a professional wedding transport service.

Upon Laura’s arrival I captured some lovely candid moments of her with her bridal party, then Steve came to see her before the ceremony and I captured some candid photos of the two of them interacting and you could see the excitement on their faces!

Ceremony

The ceremony was in the main room at The Saxon Mill, with a small number of the couples close friends and family, many smiles and small conversations waiting for the ceremony to begin.

The room is quite dark and yellow lit so the lighting can be quite tricky, and as this was a twilight wedding we were going to loose all the natural light coming in from the windows around the room soon.

As the flower girl and bridesmaids came down the short aisle all of the guests were smiling. Then Laura’s arrival, all eyes were on her. She had the biggest smile on her face, and I could tell she couldn’t wait to marry Steve and he had the same joy on his face too.

They had a short ceremony that lasted about 20 mins or so, I tried to creep around the room to capture lots of different shots, but if you have been to The Saxon Mill, it does have squeaky floor boards… EEEK!

Photo Time

After the ceremony  we headed straight out to capture the Bride and Grooms photos in the early sunset. They were both happy to pose and capture natural in the moment shots together. We went over to the crop fields where Laura braved the slight muddy patches to capture her photos. On the walk back Laura really wanted to go in a particular area but it was fenced off, this didnt stop her in her dress, she climbed very elegantly through the fence again just to capture those magical shots under the trees! The video I captured was so funny and they shared it wih everyone when we retured back to the guests.

In terms of the group photos, they only wanted 7 group photos so we managed to capture these really quickly, as everyone was ready to get them done as the evening was getting much colder!

Into the Evening

As everyone was seating for the wedding breakfast, Laura and Steve were announced into the room with big cheers.

Later they cut the cake, which was amazing an captured the couples love for the outdoors with a little hedgehogs on the top. They cut the cake but didn’t have a first dance. To a very talented singer they had booked for the rest of the evening.

My Thoughts

The weather was amazing for an October day and the atmosphere and love from all of the guests could really be felt. As a photographer it is really lovley for guests to make you feel part of the wedding party and not just there for the photography. I really enjoyed watching how natural Steve and Laura were together with intimate moments of small smiles and giggles. I would also like to thank Steves Dad for buyingme a hot chocolate too very yummy and just wantI needed to warm up!

I really wish you all of the best for your future adventures.
