Rahab & Marc’s Wedding at Stanwick Hall

Rahab and Marc had a beautiful day for their wedding at Stanwick Hall, allowing them to make the most of the grounds and have the outdoor ceremony they had planned.

Everyone was in great spirits from the start, and there was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere throughout the day.

Getting Ready for the Ceremony

Before the ceremony, I spent around ten minutes with Rahab, her bridesmaids and her mum capturing a small collection of photographs together.

We kept things relaxed and moving naturally, capturing some lovely photographs of Rahab with the people closest to her before it was time to head to the ceremony.

An Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at Stanwick Hall

Rahab and Marc had chosen to hold their ceremony outside, providing a beautiful setting for this part of their day.

I photographed the bridal party making their way down the aisle, followed by Rahab and her mum. It was particularly lovely to capture the moment her mum gave her away before the ceremony began.

From there, I photographed the important moments as they naturally unfolded, including the vows, exchange of rings, their first kiss and the signing of the register.

And then came the confetti!

As Rahab and Marc made their way back down the aisle, their guests showered them with confetti. With everyone smiling and celebrating around them, it created some fantastic photographs and was one of those parts of a wedding that is always great fun to capture.

Keeping the Group Photographs Relaxed

As it was a particularly warm day, I didn’t want Rahab, Marc or their guests standing around for too long while we worked through the group photographs.

Bright midday light can also be one of the more challenging conditions to photograph a wedding in. Strong overhead light can create harsh shadows across faces and cause people to squint, so choosing the right location becomes really important. I found a shaded area where the light was much softer and more flattering, while also keeping everyone more comfortable.

Rahab and Marc had given me their full group photograph list before the wedding, which made everything straightforward. I started with the photograph involving all of their guests and then gradually worked down through the smaller family and friendship groups.

Having the list organised beforehand meant I could keep everything moving without unnecessarily taking guests away from the celebrations.

Once we had finished, everyone was free to head to the bar, grab a drink and enjoy the rest of the afternoon.

Wedding Portraits Around Stanwick Hall

With the group photographs complete, I took Rahab and Marc away for some time together and their couple portraits.

We captured a mixture of romantic portraits alongside more relaxed photographs of the two of them walking together. I always like this part of the day to feel like time away from the crowd rather than one long photography session.

One particularly lovely moment came when Rahab stopped to feed their gorgeous baby boy. It was a much quieter, more personal part of the day and something I was pleased to be there to photograph.

These little unscripted moments can become every bit as important as the photographs that were planned beforehand.

The Wedding Breakfast

Before everyone sat down, Rahab had asked me to capture a small selection of photographs of the wedding breakfast room and their cake.

I photographed the room while everything was ready and untouched, giving them a record of all those details they had spent time choosing and arranging.

I then stayed to photograph Rahab and Marc welcoming their guests into the wedding breakfast, bringing my coverage of this part of their day to a close.

Rahab & Marc’s Stanwick Hall Wedding

Rahab and Marc’s wedding had such a relaxed and happy atmosphere.

From those first photographs with Rahab, her bridesmaids and her mum, through to their outdoor ceremony, a brilliant confetti moment, family photographs and their couple portraits, there was so much to capture.

It was a wonderful wedding to photograph and a day filled with natural moments, family celebrations and plenty of memories for Rahab and Marc to look back on.
