Sarah & Matt’s Romantic Summer Wedding at Wootton Park
I was absolutely thrilled to be Sarah and Matt’s wedding photographer for their gorgeous summer celebration at Wootton Park. Although the British weather gave us a slightly cooler afternoon, the entire day was overflowing with warmth, laughter, and beautiful, emotional moments shared with their closest family and friends.
As a Warwickshire wedding photographer, Wootton Park is a dream venue. Nestled in its own private valley near Stratford-upon-Avon, it features a stunning mix of rustic 16th-century barns, rolling hills, and a tranquil lakeside setting the perfect backdrop for a timeless wedding story.
Capturing the Pre-Ceremony Anticipation
The photography began by meeting Matt and his groomsmen as they arrived at the venue. They all looked incredibly sharp, and capturing the nervous excitement and the arrival of the wedding guests set a wonderful tone for the day.
Sarah and her bridal party were excitedly getting ready in the awesome getting ready room Wootton has to offer, I spent some time documenting the excitment, candid moments between her and her bridal party just before the ceremony began. Sarah looked absolutely stunning in a beautifully simple, elegant wedding dress, and capturing those final, emotional deep breaths with her bridesmaids before walking down the aisle was incredibly special.
An Emotional Lakeside Ceremony
The ceremony itself was held in Wootton Park’s magnificent outdoor area setting, BEAUTIFUL! lit beautifully by the lovely sunny weather, surrounded by so many gorgeous flowers. My goal during any wedding service is to be as unobtrusive as possible while capturing the true essence of the moment.
By utilising fast, silent lenses, I was able to document the raw emotions of the ceremony, the tears of joy from family members, the shared smiles between the couple, and the profound moment Sarah and Matt exchanged they’re vows.
Confetti, Crowds, and the Grand Group Photos
Once the ceremony concluded, we headed out into the grassed lawns. I lined up the wedding guests for the couple’s confetti shot as a photographer, you all know by now that this is easily in my top five absolute favourite photos to capture! The pure, unscripted joy on Sarah and Matt’s faces as they walked through a shower of petals was magic.
Swiftly moving on, we used the gorgeous, sweeping backdrop of Wootton Park’s grounds to gather all the guests together for the grand, full-group photo. Because we had a relatively tight window of time before the wedding breakfast was served, efficiency was key. I quickly broke the larger crowd down into the smaller, intimate family group photos the couple had requested, ensuring everyone could head inside to warm up and enjoy the hospitality right on schedule.
Relaxed & Romantic Couple Portraits
Just before dinner, I stole Sarah and Matt away for their creative portrait session around Wootton Park’s stunning estate. The rolling hills and lakeside paths offer endless opportunities for timeless portraiture.
Our session was beautifully relaxed. By combining natural, candid interactions with a touch of gentle guidance, I was able to weave a sense of classic romance into they’re poses. I truly loved how much freedom Sarah and Matt gave me to blend a traditional photography style with authentic romance, resulting in portraits that they will cherish for a lifetime.
