Indy & Greg’s Wedding at Compton Verney Chapel, Warwickshire
7th September 2026 | Wedding Photography by Emma Lowe
Well, this was certainly a wedding I wasn’t expecting to photograph!
On 7th September, I received a phone call from another wedding photographer who had unfortunately had his flight cancelled and couldn’t make it to Indy and Greg’s wedding at Compton Verney.
With their ceremony approaching, he needed someone to step in at the last minute. Thankfully, I was available and more than happy to help!
Now, anyone who knows me will know that I like to be super organised before a wedding. I usually spend time getting to know my couples, discussing their photography and making sure I have all the details sorted well in advance.
This time, I arrived knowing just three things: the venue, the couple’s names and that I was photographing their ceremony and group photographs. Slight panic on my part, but there was no time to worry. I had a wedding to photograph!
A Beautiful Ceremony at Compton Verney Chapel
Walking into the chapel at Compton Verney was a lovely surprise.
What an incredible room to photograph in! The beautiful white interior, elegant architectural details and large windows filled the chapel with the most wonderful natural light.
As a wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for much better conditions, particularly when I’d had no opportunity to visit beforehand or plan where I wanted to photograph from.
The light was soft and flattering, and the white surroundings gave the ceremony photographs a really elegant feel.
Once the ceremony began, I settled straight into my usual way of working, concentrating on Indy and Greg, their vows and the moments unfolding around them.
Despite the unexpected circumstances, I really enjoyed photographing their ceremony in such a beautiful setting.
Late Summer Photographs on the Lawn
After the ceremony, we headed outside for the family and group photographs.
It was a lovely late-summer day, and the main lawn at Compton Verney gave us plenty of space to bring everyone together, with the impressive house and grounds providing a wonderful backdrop.
Of course, organising group photographs is usually much easier when I’ve already discussed everything with the couple beforehand!
This time, I had to work things out as we went along, making sure we captured the important family combinations without taking too much time away from the celebrations.
Thankfully, everything came together, and we made the most of the September sunshine.
A Wedding I Won’t Forget!
Although my time with Indy and Greg was relatively short, it’s certainly a wedding I’ll remember.
It was a completely different experience from my usual bookings, where I’ve often been speaking to the couple for months before their wedding day.
This time, I had to arrive, quickly get my bearings and get straight to work.
I was particularly impressed by Compton Verney Chapel. The natural light and beautiful white interior made it a real pleasure to photograph, and I’d love the opportunity to return for another wedding.
Most importantly, I’m so pleased I was able to step in and make sure Indy and Greg had photographs of their ceremony and family celebrations.
Indy and Greg, thank you for welcoming me into your wedding at such short notice. I hope you both had a wonderful day and wish you every happiness together!
