Ann & Mike’s Wedding at Compton Verney, Warwickshire

8th September 2026 | Wedding Photography by Emma Lowe

After 24 years together, Ann and Mike celebrated their wedding at the beautiful Compton Verney in Warwickshire on 8th September 2026.

It was a lovely warm September day, perfect for making the most of the grounds, and I thoroughly enjoyed photographing their celebrations. From the wonderful light inside the chapel to the more intimate atmosphere of the art gallery, there was plenty of variety for me to work with throughout the day.

Beautiful Natural Light in Compton Verney Chapel

One of my favourite things about photographing a wedding at Compton Verney is the chapel.

The white interior and large windows create the most beautiful natural light, which is something I always appreciate as a photographer. It gives the photographs a lovely softness while keeping the colours clean and natural.

For Ann and Mike’s ceremony, the lighting was particularly good, allowing me to capture some beautiful photographs of them exchanging their vows, alongside the reactions of their family and friends.

After 24 years together, it was lovely to see them finally celebrating their marriage, surrounded by the people closest to them.

Wedding Photographs at the Front of Compton Verney

Following the ceremony, we gathered everyone outside at the front of Compton Verney for the group photographs.

The grand entrance and impressive architecture provided a wonderful backdrop, and with the warm September weather, it was the perfect opportunity to photograph Ann and Mike with their guests.

I took a mixture of larger group photographs and smaller family combinations, keeping things relaxed and allowing everyone to enjoy the sunshine.

I particularly liked being able to include the house in the background, giving the photographs a real sense of where their wedding took place.

Exploring the Grounds with Ann & Mike

Once we’d finished the group photographs, I took Ann and Mike for a little walk around the grounds to capture some photographs of just the two of them.

Compton Verney offers so many opportunities for wedding portraits, with its beautiful architecture, landscaped gardens and open spaces.

I wanted their photographs to feel relaxed and natural, so we took our time exploring a few different spots, making the most of the lovely late-summer light.

Having been together for 24 years, Ann and Mike were clearly very comfortable in each other’s company, which made photographing them a real pleasure.

I particularly enjoyed capturing the moments when they were simply walking together, chatting and enjoying a little time away from their guests.

A Drinks Reception in the Art Gallery

The drinks reception took place inside Compton Verney’s art gallery, which provided a completely different environment for photography.

Unlike the bright, white chapel, the gallery has much darker lighting, making it a little more challenging to photograph.

As a photographer, this is where you really need to pay attention to the available light and adapt your camera settings to suit the surroundings.

I wanted to retain the atmosphere of the gallery while still capturing natural photographs of Ann and Mike’s guests enjoying themselves.

The contrast between the bright chapel and the darker gallery made for an interesting variety of photographs, and I enjoyed the challenge of working in two such different spaces.

Speeches in the Hall

The speeches took place in the hall, where everyone gathered to celebrate Ann and Mike.

After 24 years together, there was certainly plenty of history behind their wedding, and it was lovely photographing them surrounded by family and friends.

I concentrated on capturing the expressions and reactions throughout the speeches, particularly the smiles and laughter around the room.

These are often some of my favourite photographs from a wedding because they show the genuine connections between people.

My Memories of Ann & Mike’s Compton Verney Wedding

What I’ll remember most about Ann and Mike’s wedding is the wonderful variety of photography opportunities Compton Verney provided.

The chapel was an absolute pleasure to photograph with its beautiful natural light, while the art gallery offered a completely different challenge with its darker surroundings.

Outside, the warm September weather meant we could enjoy the grounds for their group photographs and couple portraits without having to rush.

But most importantly, it was lovely to photograph Ann and Mike celebrating their marriage after 24 years together.

Ann and Mike, thank you for choosing me to photograph your wedding. It was a pleasure being part of your celebrations, and I wish you both many more happy years together!
