I was so pleased to be Celine & Samuel’s wedding photographer for their beautiful wedding day at Bourton Hall.

There are some weddings where you can feel the emotion in every part of the day, and Celine and Samuel’s beautiful wedding at Bourton Hall was exactly that. From the moment I arrived, the entire day was filled with warmth, laughter, and so much love from family and friends.

Set in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside, Bourton Hall provided the perfect backdrop for such a heartfelt celebration. The grand interiors, elegant staircase, and stunning grounds always make this venue a dream to photograph, whatever the weather decides to do.

As their Bourton Hall wedding photographer, my approach throughout the day was to capture everything as naturally and authentically as possible. I wanted the photographs to reflect not only how the day looked, but how it truly felt. From the quiet emotional moments in the morning preparations through to the laughter and celebrations later in the evening, I focused on documenting genuine reactions, natural interactions, and all of the little in-between moments that can often become the most meaningful memories.

One of the most emotional moments of the day was watching Celine walk down the aisle. Her son Matthew proudly gave her away, while her other son Dan carried the rings, making the ceremony feel even more personal and meaningful. During the ceremony, I worked discreetly to capture the emotion naturally without interrupting the moment, focusing on the smiles, tears, reactions from family members, and the connection between Celine and Samuel throughout.

The weather certainly kept us on our toes. The day began beautifully warm and sunny, especially for the middle of May, before the typical British showers arrived during the afternoon. Thankfully, Bourton Hall is one of those venues that works perfectly in every season and weather condition. Rather than allowing the rain to disrupt the photography, I adapted the locations and used the stunning interiors of the venue to continue creating elegant and timeless images throughout the day.

For the family photographs, I chose the grand staircase inside Bourton Hall for all of the immediate family group photos. The staircase creates such a beautiful backdrop and allowed me to keep the photographs bright, clean, and classic while ensuring everybody stayed comfortable indoors during the showers. I carefully organised the groups efficiently so that family could quickly return to enjoying the celebrations while still capturing a full set of timeless portraits for the couple.

Throughout the wedding breakfast, I continued photographing the natural atmosphere of the day, capturing reactions, laughter between guests, emotional moments during speeches, and all of the candid interactions that tell the full story of a wedding day. These are often the moments couples don’t fully see themselves, so I always focus on documenting the atmosphere and emotion unfolding naturally around them.

After the wedding breakfast, the weather finally cleared and the light outside became absolutely perfect for portraits. I took Celine and Samuel outside to the back of the house to capture those iconic Bourton Hall wedding photographs. The soft light after the rain created such a romantic feel, and the gardens and stunning architecture of the venue provided the perfect backdrop for elegant couple portraits.

During this part of the day, I always aim to keep the photography relaxed and natural rather than overly posed. I gently guide couples where needed while allowing them to enjoy a few quiet moments together away from the guests. This creates photographs that feel authentic, romantic, and full of genuine connection rather than forced posing. Celine and Samuel were completely relaxed together, which made capturing those timeless portraits incredibly easy.

It was such a pleasure to photograph this wonderful wedding at Bourton Hall. Celine and Samuel created a day centred around family, love, and togetherness, and it was an honour to document every moment of it through natural, elegant wedding photography.
